As you’ve probably noticed, the corner of Man o’ War and Nicholasville Road has been under construction for quite some time, causing quite the excitement and curiosity. The first of its kind in Kentucky, a walkable community with a mix of local stores and national brands, debuted April 27th. With a total of 70 shops and 22 restaurants, you’re sure to find exactly what you’re looking for. And to make it even easier, we’ve compiled a short guide to a few of our favorite spots around the Summit! Keep reading to find out more.
Restaurants
- Edly’s BBQ If you’re a fan of the burnt ends on brisket, you’ll love their burnt ends platter. As you can guess, it’s a meal made up of only burnt ends! What could be better?! I’ll also recommend their grits casserole, potato salad, and banana pudding. As well as their tacos! You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
- Honeywood Ouita Michael, who also opened Wallace Station, Midway Bakery, Smithtown Seafood, Windy Corner Market, Woodford Reserve Glenn’s Creek Cafe, and Holly Hill Inn has opened yet another restaurant! I personally haven’t had the chance to eat at Honeywood, but having had the opportunity to eat at her other restaurants I’m sure it won’t disappoint! I’ve heard the Sweet Potato Beignets will knock your socks off, and I believe it… “Savory fritters with red pepper sweet-and-sour chili sauce and scratch-made Benedictine”. My mouth is watering just reading that!
- Shake Shack Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan and only grew from there! Shake Shack serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, and shakes. Their burgers are made from 100% all-natural Angus beef, vegetarian fed, humanely raised and source verified. No hormones or antibiotics – EVER.
- Steel City Pops Choose your poison! Fruity or creamy? If you chose fruity, you have the choice to choose between Blueberry Basil, Cucumber Lime, Elderflower, Hibiscus, Honeydew, Lime, Passion Fruit, Pineapple Jalapeño, Root Beer, Strawberry, Lemonade, Sweet Tea, and Watermelon. If you chose creamy, you have the choice to choose between Avocado, Buttermilk, Chocolate, Chocolate Chili, Coconut, Coffee, Strawberry Cream, and Vanilla Bean. After that, you have the choice to get it dipped, drizzled or sprinkled! Plus, their pops are always gluten free (They even have gluten free graham cracker crumbs)!
Keep an eye out for… Athenian Grill, Crank and Boom, Texas de Brazil, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and more to open over the next six months!
