6. Test and Balance Water
Test:
- Free chlorine
- pH (target 7.2–7.6)
- Total alkalinity
- Calcium hardness
- Stabilizer (CYA)

7. Shock the Pool
A shock treatment helps eliminate contaminants that accumulated during winter.
